Community guidelines

Buto works when people can trust their teammates. These rules apply in chat, voice, comments, portfolios and profiles.

Be honest

  • List skills and levels you really have. Portfolio pieces should describe what you did, and credit your teammates.
  • Don’t post fake reviews, confirmations or ratings, or ask others to.
  • Don’t impersonate anyone or create more than one account.

Be a good teammate

  • Join a team only if you can give it the time you listed. If plans change, tell the team and leave rather than disappearing.
  • Respect decisions the team has made together, and disagree constructively.
  • Rate teammates fairly. Ratings are private to the person and count towards their reputation.

Be respectful

  • No harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats or sexual content.
  • No spam, scams, or asking anyone for money, personal documents or account details.
  • Don’t record voice rooms, or share teammates’ messages or files outside the team, without their permission.

Respect other people’s work

  • Only upload images, code and designs you made or have the right to use, and credit sources and licences.
  • Don’t put secrets (passwords, API keys) or other people’s personal information in code samples or files.

If something goes wrong

Use Report on a message, comment, project or profile, and block anyone you don’t want to hear from. An admin reviews every report. Breaking these rules can lead to content being removed or an account being suspended.
